Why Menopause Matters
Menopause isn’t just a biological event; it’s a seismic shift and actually changes your brain. It doesn’t just impact women, it can affect all relationships, partners, families, colleagues, and friends along with health, fitness and well-being.
So, why does it matter?
- The Journey: Menopause isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience. Each woman’s journey is unique, filled with hormonal twists, emotional turns, and unexpected detours. Some lucky ladies escape many of the life altering symptoms, some are not so fortunate.
- Life-Changing Moments: Picture this: You’re going about your normal life, maybe in a meeting or social event or just making a simple cup of tea, and suddenly BAM! —menopause knocks on your door. Sleep patterns shift, sudden mood changes out of nowhere, forgetfulness, frequent trips to the loo and your own thermostat becomes your worst enemy… At the most inconvenient of times.
- The Ripple Effect: Menopause ripples through every corner of your existence. Relationships can become strained, communication is lost in the NBActiv8Change2021© stutter trying to speak properly, some relationships simply collapse under the added strain, especially when no one knows ‘why this is happening’; work dynamics shift, loss of confidence and credibility follow, and your inner compass gets a serious curveball.

So, grab a cuppa, find a cosy spot, and let’s talk about menopause. It’s a wild ride, but hey, we’ve got each other!
Why I Write: Navigating Menopause and Beyond
Life has a way of surprising us—sometimes with a gentle nudge, and other times with a seismic shift. For me, that shift came first in the form of pregnancy, then the delights of menopause—a natural transition that altered the very fabric of my existence.
The hormonal changes swept through my body like a tempest, leaving no corner untouched. Hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood swings—they became my new companions.
But here’s the twist: No one warned me. No friendly guidebook whispered, “Hey, buckle up; menopause is coming!” Instead, I stumbled through the fog, feeling lost and bewildered. Stress layered upon stress, and inflammation simmered beneath the surface. Autoimmune diseases peeked out from the shadows, and I grappled with the aftermath.
And then over a decade later… It hit me…
Knowledge is power!
If only someone had shared their experience, their battle scars, their survival strategies. Perhaps I could have navigated those choppy waters more gracefully.
Maybe I could have avoided some of the crashing consequences.
So, here I am—writing this monthly blog. Not out of bitterness or frustration (though those emotions fuel my fire), but out of a burning desire to make a difference. I want my journey—the raw, unfiltered truth—to be a lifeline for others. If my words and solutions/tools/strategies can ease someone else’s path, if they can find solace in shared stories, then my mission is fulfilled.
And now, my call to action: Join me.
Let’s talk menopause; brain fog/cotton brain, migraines, loss of hair, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, loss of bone density, muscle strength, sleep disturbances, stress, inflammation, autoimmune resilience, life revolving around where’s the nearest loo and everything in between. Share your experiences, ask questions, and let’s build a community of support. Together, we’ll turn frustration into advocacy, disappointment into empowerment.
Because no one should face life’s storms alone.
With warmth, passion and determination.
